Problem 1: AC Not Turning On

What to check first:

• Check your thermostat: Is it set to "COOL" and is the temperature set below the room temperature? Are the batteries dead?
• Check your breaker: Go to your electrical panel and see if the breaker for the "AC" or "Air Handler" has tripped. If that doesn't work: It could be a failed thermostat, a safety switch, or a wiring issue. Call us for a repair.

Problem 2: AC Blowing Warm Air

What to check first:

• Check your air filter: A filthy, clogged filter can stop all airflow and cause your system to blow warm.
• Check the outside unit: Is the big fan on the outside condenser spinning? Is it caked in dirt or (in our climate) palm fronds? If that doesn't work: This is the most common sign of a refrigerant (Freon) leak or a failed capacitor. Call us for a repair.

Problem 3: Water Leaking (A Tierra Verde, FL Emergency!)

• The Problem: You see water pooling around your indoor furnace/air handler or see a wet spot on your ceiling.
• The Cause: This is a clogged condensate drain line. Your AC pulls gallons of humidity from the air, which drains outside. When that line clogs with algae and gunk, the water backs up into your home.
• The Solution: This is an emergency. Shut off your AC. Call us. We have to clear the drain line before it causes thousands in water damage and a mold outbreak.
